Trailer Loading Rules

1. Four (4) man team, 3 will be horse back.

2. Three (3) minute time limit.

3. Two (2) ropers, one loop each. Roper may daily or tie off.

4. Four (4) legal head catches - around the horns, half head, around the neck or neck and one front leg. No loping or unnecessary dragging of cattle.

5. A herd of yearlings will be held behind a line at one end of the arena. As the riders approach the line, the announcer will call the number drawn for that team. Time begins when the first rider crosses the line. Without loping, the numbered yearling must be cut from the herd and driven across the line before it is roped. If yearling crosses back into herd before being roped, rider must slow down and cut it from the herd again. No more than to (2) head may cross the line at a time. More than two head will result in a no time. Only after the yearling is roped may the herd cross the line.

6. If the first roper has an illegal head catch and rope is still on, the second roper may rope. If second roper also has an illegal head catch it results in a no time.

7. After the yearling is roped it must be pulled to the trailer at no faster than a trot. Loping will result in a no time.

8. The trailer gate will be closed and latched at start of the event. The gate can not be unlatched and opened until the yearling is roped.

9. The yearling may be pulled into the trailer by horseback but must not be loaded in a manner which might cripple or harm the animal. Unnecessary roughness will be determined by judge and result in a no time.

10. All ropes must be off yearling and two horses must be loaded in the trailer. Gate must be latched.

11. All four team members must be in the cab of the pickup. Time will be called when all doors are shut.

Points awarded for the top 5 places in the Trailer Loading will count towards the CCRR Championship but will not count towards qualifying for the WCRR Finals.
