Ranch Horse Show Rules and Guidelines

Equipment includes a stock or ranch saddle and tack used for everyday ranch work. Tie doens, mechanical hackamores, gag bits, martingales or any part of the curb strap is not permissible. Rider must wear long sleeved shirt, hat and boots. This is a Ranch Horse and Cowboy event to replicate how they work together out on the range.

ALL JUDGES DECISIONS ARE FINAL.

Rider has 5 minutes to complete task in arena. Judges award points for:

• Reining or dry work has 5 basic set of maneuvers; rollbacks, circles, lead changes, stopping, backing and spins. (Total of 30 points)
• Cow work consists of two segments, boxing or holding cow at end of arena AND turning the cow down the fence in both directions. (Total of 30 points)
• Roping consists of 3 segments. Speed, rate and tracking, stopping square and in a straight line; and pulling from the horn. (Total of 30 points)
